Lake Berryessa bass bite has been fair with the winter pattern in full gear.  the spoon bite has been the best when you find those bait schools.  Look for them in the deepest part of the creek channels leading into coves in the Narrows, and in the Main Body working off shore structure.  Try the north end major creeks like Pope and Putah.  We are also bringing up Crappie working the same spots for Bass using 1 3/4 oz. Blade Runner spoon in Morning Dawn UV and Shad UV colors.  The drop shot and Jig bite has been slow but the fish seem to be bigger.  Crawdad patterns seem to work the best and fish them very very slow with maybe your favorite scent.  Work these baits on outside points and off shore structure for best results.  Most of the fish are deep from 25 to 50 feet.

Delta stripers are starting to pick up again using swim baits in shallow water around the Liberty Island area.  The water has started to clear up a bit and this will get that bite rolling again.  The spoon bite is also picking up with fish up to 10 pounds and a lot of schoolie size.

That’s it for this year my next report will be 2016.  Going up to Clearlake this weekend so I will write about it next week.

Happy New Year!  and may all your lines be tight in 2016.
